I’m amazed at the number of fashion experts who come on TV saying how cheap clothing is these days and that it’s so cheap you can simply buy something for one season and simply throw it away.  This is simply terrible advice.  On one hand buying fairly traded fashion items made from organic cotton is “cool” but then we’re being told that it’s OK to buy cheap clothes made in sweat shops only for us to discard them.

I love fashion but I also love the planet and so always try to get as much wear out of everything that I buy.  Simply buy lots of basics such as black tshirts and jeans, this way you can mix and match and not appear like you’re wearing the same gear over and over again.  Then of course there are fashion accessories such as bags, bracelets and scarves.  A whole outfit can change looks simply by mixing and matching accessories.  You don’t need to throw anything away.
